Calendar of EventsPractice sessions are held Monday evenings at between 6:30 and 8:15 at the New York Shambhala Center, 118 W 22nd St. 6th Floor (go in to the second door downstairs and ring to be buzzed in). Visitors are always welcome. Please note that shoes are not permitted in the dojo (practice room). Shoes may be stored in two closets located in the main area of the Shambhala Center. We open each class with a brief (10 minutes) period of sitting meditation. During this time, visitors may join in the meditation or sit on a chair in the back and observe. About three First Shot beginner programs are offered in New York City each year -- as two-day weekend workshops, or in a series of three consecutive Monday evenings. See calendar below for the next scheduled program. Additional beginner programs are held at various sister schools and meditation centers throughout the Northeast, and around the country. For those events the calendar page of our international headquarters, Zenko International. Class equipment is provided for all First Shot programs at no additional charge. This equipment consists of traditional bows (yumi), gloves (ugake), and arrows (ya). Uniforms are not required; loose fitting comfortable clothing is suggested.
