Tiger Eyes
The Karme Choling azuchi (target mound) waits in preparation for the closing ceremony. Constructed in 1992, the three-sided building that surrounds the azuchi is known as the matoba. It was built by volunteers and financed by donations.
The grassy area in front of the azuchi is known as the yamichi (arrow pathway); the path to the left is the yatorimichi (arrow retrieval path). The entire area forward of the shooting platform is regarded as sacred ground -- never to be walked upon except under certain specific situations.
